Rabid Fish Labs, LLC ("Cutica," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Cutica collects, uses, and protects information when you use our iOS mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
When you use Cutica, we may collect:
- Name and email address (when you sign in with Google or Apple)
- Account profile information (profile picture, user ID)
- Hand and nail photographs for AI analysis and nail style generation (see Section 2 below)
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the app, we automatically collect:
- Device information (iOS version, device model)
- App usage analytics (features used, screens viewed) via Firebase Analytics
- Crash reports and performance data via Firebase Crashlytics
- Authentication and user data storage via Firebase
2. Hand and Nail Photo Data and AI Analysis
What we collect: Cutica processes hand and nail photographs that you capture using your device camera or select from your photo library exclusively for AI-powered nail style generation and hand health analysis. We do not use facial recognition technology or collect biometric identifiers.
How we use hand and nail photos:
- Generate personalized AI nail art and style recommendations
- Create realistic nail style previews on your actual hands
- Analyze hand and nail health indicators
- Store your generation history for future reference
- Display personalized results and recommendations within the app
Third-party processing: Hand and nail photos are sent to Fal.ai API for AI image generation. According to Fal.ai's data policy:
- Uploaded photos are processed for your specific generation request
- Generated images are stored temporarily and made accessible via secure URLs
- Your photos are used only for your individual nail style generation
- Processing follows industry-standard security practices
Data retention:
- On Fal.ai servers: Photos processed according to their data retention policy
- In Firebase Storage: Your generated images and original photos are stored securely for your generation history
- On your device: Photos saved to your camera roll remain under your control
- In app memory: Photos held temporarily during generation session only
Your control: You maintain full control over photos stored on your device and can delete your generation history within the app. Photos on your device remain under your control at all times.
3. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Authenticate you via Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In
- Provide AI nail style generation services
- Store your generation history securely
- Track app performance and fix crashes
- Improve app features based on usage patterns
- Provide customer support
4. How We Share Information
We share information only with:
- Google & Apple: For authentication services
- Firebase (Google): For analytics, crash reporting, and secure data storage
- Fal.ai: For AI nail style generation processing (see Section 2)
- Apple: Basic app usage data as required for App Store
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
5. Payments and Subscriptions
All payments are processed securely through Apple's App Store. Cutica never directly handles or stores your payment information. Apple manages all payment processing and subscription management.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including:
- Encryption for data transmission
- Secure authentication via Google and Apple Sign-In
- Firebase's security infrastructure
While we strive to protect your information, no method is 100% secure.
7. Your Rights and Choices

- Opt out of analytics: Go to iOS Settings > Privacy > Analytics & Improvements
- Manage photos: Delete photos from your camera roll and generation history anytime
- Access your data: Contact us to request a copy of your data
8. Children's Privacy
Cutica is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by updating the "Last Updated" date and through in-app notifications for significant changes.
